Pet Peeves

2007-07-26

Third party invitations.

No thank you notes for gifts.

People who cannot say/speak thank you.

People with no Social IQs and do not have common sense to use everyday manners.

People who say they will do something but do not follow through on their word.

People who have nothing positive to say about anything at all, chronic complainers, people who always feel they are victims of any every day matter.

People who always have to be right and always have to have the last word -- they are usually poor listeners.

Drivers who speed up when they see you at a street trying to make a left or right turn onto the main road.

And last but not least, people who do not laugh at my clever and amusing witty bantering or jokes. LOL

Thanks for letting me vent.

One Tough Cookie -- you are correct. It is too bad there is much social rank prejudice in the military, everyone has to start somewhere and with this, how the heck do they work and cooperate with this under their hats?

Wow i have to agree with alot of those. I also hate people that think they're better then you because thier husband is a higher rank... Ooops thats military related lol

You are so right Bishop's Fantasy -- many people never learn from their parents or family proper manners and social etiquette. Maybe I should start a Manners School?

You know what annoys me? -people who peg most of my faults so correctly with their own list of annoyances...

Something to consider: It may be that people don't demonstrate those finer points of etiquette because they haven't been taught. I grew up without formalized training in those areas. I was on my own to learn about invitations and thank-you notes and how to behave in social situations. I had my foot in my mouth so much of the time, I had to hop!
